Theo has owned and operated Total Training since 1991. They are an independent provider of training, coaching and mentoring services to a wide range of businesses and organisations, both in NZ and Australia. Theo himself works in the fields of Leadership Development, Personal Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Interpersonal Skills, and Mental Fitness and Resilience. The main sectors he works in are large to small businesses, professional and high performance sport, The MBA Programme of Canty University, and in the Spinal Cord Injury rehabilitation network. He broke his neck in a cycling accident in 2009 and suffered a spinal cord injury, and as a result was in the unique position where he had to practice what he preached. He is now out of the wheelchair, and able to walk again unaided, and is a member of the board of the NZ Spinal Trust. He also works pro bono with a wide range of people, both groups and individuals, on a variety of topics including personal leadership, positive wellbeing, and mental fitness and resilience.
He likes to promote a values driven approach to people development, encouraging change and growth from the inside out. His style of delivery is engaging, and prefers a “pull” rather than “push” approach to presenting ideas, information and possibilities for personal development. And lastly he is particularly interested in giving people skills and ideas that can also be taken home and used in everyday life, as well as in their roles at work.
